I have been a potter for 35 years and have always enjoyed getting my hands into clay. My interest in representational sculpture was sparked many years ago after taking several courses at the local community college. Along with reading whatever sculpture books I could find, the decision to transition from pottery to sculpture seemed natural. After several years of self-experimentation, I learned about Litchfield County sculptor, Susan Wakeen, and took one of her workshops at Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina. Since then, I have participated in several independent studies with Susan and continue to hone my skills with her guidance. I am proud to call her my friend as well as mentor. Moving forward my focus will be on bas relief and figurative sculpture.
