After moving to New York’s Hudson Valley in 1986, Michael worked for ten years at the Tallix Sculpture Foundry in Beacon, New York.

In 1989, while still working full time at Tallix, he established Keropian Sculpture LLC and began working after hours to develop his own business, Michael Keropian Sculpture LLC, that provides sculptural services and consulting to a variety of clientele.

Michael continued building Keropian Sculpture LLC and began teaching at a number of schools in the northeast, he currently teaches at Katonah Art Center, Silvermine Art Center and privately.

In 2000, Michael received a commission to create nine heroic-size tigers for the new baseball stadium of the Detroit Tigers, Comerica Park. These tigers are the largest tiger sculptures in the Western Hemisphere.

Michael has been commissioned to create a number of sculptures in various scales for both public and government clients, from the Putnam Veteran’s Service Medals and bronze tribute plaques, to historical figure sculptures.

A recent eight foot scale monument was dedicated in June of 2022 to Sachem Daniel Nimham for the Town of Fishkill, NY, and a seven foot statue of Educator Elisabeth Bennet for Manchester, CT in 2023.

Michael has won numerous awards throughout the years. His sculptures can be found in public locations and in private collections around the world. He is a writer and historian of American Figurative Sculpture.

Michael is a Fellow and Board Member of the National Sculpture Society in NY City, and has been the Sculpture Chairperson for the Hudson Valley Art Association for three decades.

Aside from his own goals as an artist, he promotes the figurative tradition of art to a growing audience.
